A Divine Sisterhood
I am very fortunate to be part of a wonderful group of 5 girlfriends who have known each other for over 30 years. During that time we have all shared happy occasions and unfortunately, our share of sad ones too. Each one of us brings something unique and special to the group . I am not the "sister" that has a way with words but wanted to share this anyhow. We have supported each other through divorces, broken hearts, births, deaths, surgeries and sickness. We have traveled together, laughed and cried together and tried to be totally supportive even when we disagreed with each other.
In honor of our special bond, I made each one of us the bracelet you see above with the funny name we call ourselves. This name actually came to be from one of the X husbands of one of our "sisters."It has significance only to us, but somehow seemed to fit. If you are lucky enough to have friends that you love and support leave a comment here.

Me, lucky? A thousand blessings on me to be a part of the Oofa Sisterhood! Some things can only be described as divinely inspired, and the depth and strength of our loving bond proves over and over again that our sisterhood is a rare gift.
I've read somewhere that pearls allow the wearer to see the good parts of oneself so that you can love yourself and others more. The Oofa Sisterhood is all about love.
I chose to wear my bracelet on my left wrist next to my watch. I've never worn a bracelet on that wrist before, although I always have a bracelet (or two or three) on my right wrist. The conscious reason for choosing to wear it on my left wrist is because the bracelet is a precious treasure to me, not to be overshadowed by other jewelry. I've since realized that wearing it next to my watch is the unconscious symbolism of time eternal for our sisterhood.
I love you, Dina, and all my Oofa sisters.

To all who read this - Now you know which sister is the gifted writer- thanks Dee and I love you too!
I am an OOFA Sis. I wear my bracelet everyday. Sometimes I forget I'm wearing it; but at least one time each day I roll my sleeve up. stretch my arm out, and gently touch the delicate creation. Of course it's in tact...the pearls give off a calming glow. The gold and silver represent a solid foundation, and the words represent the spiritual and emotional connection I feel to five extraordinary women, the OOFAS. To Dina and all my sisters; with eternal love always and forever... Vicky
thanks Victoria- That was so beautifully written. I think I will let the "Sisters" write my next blog entry!
